eLDee Signs Eva To Trybe Records 2.0

It’s been a long time coming, but eLDee has finally confirmed the signing of a “Rap First Lady” to the new-look Trybe Records 2.0… *drum roll* … Eva Alordiah!

About a decade ago, eLDee signed Sasha to the original “Trybe Records”, and since then, she has dominated the female hiphop market in Africa, not just Nigeria (albeit with a different label – Storm Records). Now, eLDee has made a similar move in 2012 with the revamped Trybe Records 2.0 by getting the talented Eva on board.

Could this be a mismatch or yet another masterstroke by the Don himself? I’d go with the latter. I’m excited! Feel free to share your thoughts on this.

Clay – Dancing In The Sun ft Vector

Clay is amazing! I can confidently say there’s no musician in Nigeria with her voice. The quality, the “texture”… international standard!

At the start of May, we posted Clay’s “Jailer” cover along with some other songs she recorded earlier. The response was overwhelming here on the site, and that has prompted her management to put out a new single “Dancing In The Sun” featuring Vector.

While singing a “Non-Nigerian” genre, she maintains her Nigerian identity by switching up between English, Pidgin English and Igbo. I bet you never knew the Igbo language could sound so appealing when used on a Rock song. I swear, I love dis babe!

Yes, D’Banj has signed Davido to his new label, Def Jam Africa. Def Jam Africa is the African arm ofIsland Def Jam which is under parent company Universal Music Group, home to some of the biggest superstars on the planet.

I’m told from very reliable sources that the deal was initialized about 2 weeks ago in Atlanta, US (both acts are pictured partying it up at a club in Downtown ATL). But it was only finalised this past wednesday, the 16th of May. Details of the deal remain sketchy. But one thing’s certain… This Is Massive!

Ifeanyi Charles Bosah aka E.Fine (or Extremely Fine) was born on October 21st, 1988 in Lagos, Nigeria but then moved to Ghana in 2009 and signed with Ghanaian Record Label, ZAK Empire Entertainment. When you listen to him, you hear a whole bunch of artistes rolled into one; not just a mirror of a specific superstar. To me, that’s talent right. I’ve been jamming “Stamina” for a hot minute. “Judi” is equally as appealing. Listen to both singles.

He makes his NJO debut with his new single “Wind Low” featuring Naija boys KAS and E-Fine. Good song by all standards. I particularly like the production. Sick!
“Amarachi” is a song he recorded a while ago. I’m keeping my eyes and ears out for Scientific. He seems promising.
